Richmond Times Dispatch Quotes Firm in Story on Bad Nursing Homes

Richmond Times Dispatch writer, Tammie Smith, recently authored an excellent article on the problems encountered by her father in a Richmond area nursing home. Her 90 year old father, blind and wearing hearing aids in both ears, was basically ignored by his care providers as he attempted rehabilitation from shoulder surgery. His poor treatment resulted in the loss of so much weight that he was hospitalized for the placement of a feeding tube and required a blood transfusion. Dan Frith is quoted in the article about the need for sufficiently trained staff to prevent such tragedies.
